Well its been a while since I posted anything but I have been too busy playing the new guitars!
Keep in mind that they still need a couple of finishing touches like knobs, but here they are.

Thanks! yeah I am keeping the maple one for sure... the walnut doesn't find itself being played as often, but I expected that from the start.

Well... we'll see about that, I've gotta finish it first and then decide if someone really wants it and if I can part with it , though its possible my bro will play it. and of course being my third/fourth guitar (first/second electric) its still got plenty of room for improvement... so yeah... Im sure ill be making more of that (or similar) designs later on as well, Im pretty happy with the design

Jebarri,
The design is inspiring and the end result is beautiful! some questions:
What is your impression of the tones on those guitars and how do the two differ?

You did some careful planning with the removal of wood from the body- what was the finished weight of the cherry one?

Rodger,
I didn't have much experience with electrics before these two so I cant say a whole lot about the tone... as for comparing the two? to be honest I cant tell much difference... the walnut top has fresher strings on it so again its hard to say? However I did a quick sound sample of each so you can hear for yourself, its not a great recording or anything so sorry about that... Going through my Traynor YCV-20wr amp...

to answer your question about weight, both have cherry backs, one has a maple top and the other a walnut top, but they both weigh in around 9lbs give or take (my scale is a bit sketchy seeming)

Lol thanks 8-)

I know what you mean about the sound, but Im pretty sure at least some of it is the fresher strings, they definitely give it that extra clear ringyness... and of course they are fresher cuz I haven't played them as much oops_sign

Sorry to dig up a older thread, but I just joined and wanted to say wow, nice work, good look both of them. I'm mainly going to be a lurker to learn here, but had to say how much I enjoyed looking at the progress. Thanks.

Regards,

Don

Thanks everyone :)
I actually re-carved both the necks recently thinning them down a little... and changed the strings on the maple guitar, which definitely helped the sound a lot since the recording.
Also I am going to try and sell the walnut one if I can, I'm trying to figure out how much to sell it at? gonna show it to the guy at the local music store and see what he thinks.
