Hello,

I am not really sure what to do with this piece of wood. Dimensions are: 145cm long, 12,5cm wide, 4,1cm thick or in inch:
57 " long, 5" wide and 1,6 " thick. Lots of sap, no cracks, on knot which is no problem at all...

Could slice it up in 2 Back and Side sets with 4 -piece backs and 2 pairs of extra sides. 8 slices should be no problem.
Or perhaps some necks? What is your opinion about 4 piece backs with sap? A bit too much????

I'd book match some of it into finger boards and head plates. Not sure what the wood is but some bridges with a bit of sap to go with the fb's if the wood is right for it. What is it? Looks like Coco.

I have some d. ratusa similar to that I have been walking by several times a day wondering 'could that sapwood by stained to match or something. Staining in the guitar world is not always a bad thing is it? I would try something a brick red or orange, & then do, enough coats of finish to see if you like it, maybe even paint some extra lines with a fine artist brush with ngr. As far as sizing goes, is it big enough for a parlour or the bigger ukes? Do a sample & show us.

Hello,

thank you for the discussion, but I just could not resist to go for back and sides...ok...may not be everybody's taste, but the wood being really old and try is very stable. The resawed pieces didn't move anything, this board was bone dry.
