I swear, I have almost as much fun making jigs as I do building the guitar!

I wish I could say the same, but I dislike making jigs.

Except for the saddle slot jig. That one was frustrating. It took me too long to figure out that the sled needed to ride on a wedge. duh

In addition to some sweat and tears, yes, that's a drop of blood under the bridge plate. oops_sign

Here is a picture of my homemade drum sander. The adjustment mechanism is hinged inside the framework and provides support across the entire width of the table.

Hmmm..orthodontists rubber bands...what a good idea. I just use plain old rubber bands since i do not have access to an orthodontist.

I was waiting for a fretboard to arrive and was at a point where I couldn't proceed without it, so last weekend I started #3. I'll post pics of the binding jig in action on that one.

Thanks, Todd. I couldn't talk Bill at Axiom into cutting the tortoise into .020" strips for the center ring, so I cut down a .060" binding strip on a router table. Yeah, it was fun.

Imagemy binding rig in action. The metal strap that connects to the top of the router housing really tightens things up.
