I like that image a lot. I've been wondering if the portion of the neck that looks like reeds is an audio trace and if so what it might be from.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

That is way cool, but I can see that it is not a photograph in itself, but rather a great example of graphic art application, and brilliant idea.
