Hello all, I know it is a long shot but I think I’ll ask anyway. I lost one washer that goes on a Gotoh 510 tuner. The one under the nut on the head plate. It is cosmo black. Would anyone have a spare tuner I could buy? All I need is the washer, but a tuner is fine. I’ve checked all the sources with no luck (Stewmac, Allparts, etc).
Thanks in advance

Philadelphia Luthier Tools and Supplies sells various Gotoh 510 tuners in cosmo black as singles.

Is there anything proprietary about that washer that would prevent substituting just about any black washer that came with any tuner? Tuner seem to standardize on 10MM internal diameters.....

I think the washer for that application is actually 8mm.

Here you can purchase various individual tuners. I never dug around to check for 510s but pretty sure the washers and nuts are
same size. If only need washer I would order this one. Fine folks to order from. British Columbia.

Me to, as well as +1

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Thanks to all! I was unfamiliar with any of these places. I just ordered one.
Peter, it is cosmo black which isn’t black paint. I actually ordered a set of washers from Amazon that were black but it just stood out wrong.
You all are the best!

You may already know this but be careful with tightening the cosmo black washers. The coating can chip off which is a bad look. Ask me how I know. :D
