bracing my first L-00. I have the '37 Char plan which has tapered, but sounds like Gibson used both. Anyone tried both ways?

Yes, over and over again. Generally I go with straight braces, but it always comes down to…what is the objective?

I've done two, double X bracing per A Carruth. No scallops. Pinless bridges, no bridgeplate. They sound great to me.

Yup. I asked AC about it in another forum. His reply was that his classical guitars didn't have bridge plates. Should work OK and it does.

I've braced L-00's scalloped, straight, and tapered, and I preferred the tapered. I start with them slightly tall, then gradually taper them. I also carve the "parabolic" shape (I know it's not true parabolic, but it's the only name I know for the thinned triangular shape).
