Hi, I am looking to make my first guitar and would like to make it in the shape and size of a Gibson j200. Can anyone point me in the right direction for plans as I live in France and can't get stuff like that here and have searched google and had no luck.
Thanks
Jim

Not a lot of plans out there I think.
These may help, although I can't vouch for them -

or this http://www.cadguitarplans.com/blueprints/guitar-style-model/gibson/j-200-gibson-style-acoustic-guitar

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Hi Jim ... I'm just finishing an acoustic baritone based on the Gibson J200 shape and I got the plans from LMI. Our problem living in France is the damned Douanes and the import charges! As I'm finished if you want to send me a pm I can post them to you if you'll return them when you're finished (no hurry :) ), or if you live anywhere near Fontainebleau you can come and get them [:Y:]

Hope this helps,

Rick
