Ok, I've always wanted to build a guitar from scratch. I did make a bass body as a replacement for a friend a while back.

I am a cabinet maker by trade and so timber working isn't unfamiliar territory for me.
My question is however what're to start do I work an acoustic or electric first? I must add I'm no player, a few chords maybe at a push, I just love the instruments and would really like to make one or two.

In general, solidbody electrics are easier.
Necks are about the same for any guitar.
Since you already have access to tools and developed skills - you would probably do well with whatever project you choose.
Good luck, and welcome!

Welcome to da forum!
One can build an acoustic for less money.
Those electric parts really add up.
Search out for some nice wood and build an acoustic!
Plus, you need an amp with an electric.
