Anyone ever tried heat pressing/compression fretting a Strat, or other electric, neck? This is a cheap Squire. No way would it be worth it to buy another neck. I have to remove a LOT of bowing. I've never tried to fix a neck that was this bad. How much relief do you think I could realistically remove? I have a good 1/8" with the STRINGS OFF. Strings on, and the truss rod tightened a lot more than it should be, I still have a good .02" to .03". My gut tells me that between heat pressing and major compression fretting (maybe even every fret) I should be able to get it straight and hold it straight, but I've never tried to fix something this drastic before. Wondering if there's something else I should consider trying before attack this.

In my experience, heat pressing doesn't work if the bow (or twist) is more than 1/8 of an inch.
However, since it's a low-dollar neck, it won't hurt to try.
