Well I have lost my Guitar building book so I have my plans (Martin Dred), the internet, and this wonderful forum.

I have looked at many of the past threads on braces and here is what I have decided to do. The back braces will be inlet. The top bracing is what concerns me. I think I will inlet the top of the X brace and the two upper braces. The lower X brace will be tapered paper thin at the end and I guess technically it would be inlet but just enough to seat the top. My plans show the finger braces inlet into the X brace but I’m not fond of cutting into the X brace. I think I will just but the brace against the X brace and glue to the X brace. The finger braces will be tapered to paper thin ending before the kerfing.

Is this a sound plan (no pun intended)? Being a Dreadnaught does it require a different technique then described above? This is my first guitar.

what do you mean by inlet?

Extended into the side linings, so they're locked in when the top goes on.

maybe someone does, but not at all common to inlet the finger braces. I do the X and transfers brace to kerf thin the others, hate cutting and fitting all those kerf cuts, but hey that is me. Know some who don't inlet and don't really thin the braces at the kerf, guitars solid and sound awsome. Do what works for you.
