No problem, but I am going with the Jet & Powermatic stuff from GI. Thats where I got my most excellent 10-20 Performax sander. I spoke with a rep there to verify the warranty. If I get the tool home and it fails to perform, then its back to them. They do (according to them) perform a quality check out. My previous experience with themhas swayed me.

Order goes in tomorrow.

I've been running a Grizzly table saw for about 20 years now and never had a single problem with it. Sure I'd like a bigger better more powerful but when I do, it'll probably be a Grizzly because they seem to be good tools for a reasonable price. I also have a nice Grizzly band saw. Not the biggest or the best but it does the job, including resaw.

I have several Grizzly tools that I am very happy with. Their tools are well built. I recently purchased the 17" 2 hp bandsaw and it works great. It has a 12" resaw capacity. When it comes to bandsaws, the blade is an important part of the equation. Make sure to get a Lenox Woodmaster CT and you won't have any regrets.

Well, I did the purchase last night, but I screwed it up. That MS Cash may be good for large purchases, but I do not think I would mess with it for little stuff... too many hoops. And when you are done, you do not get instant feedback to let you know all is well.

I got two purchases through, no problem. But the last one, well I hit the commit button just as I noticed the MS Cashback logo was missing. I got so confused that I was unable to determine which tool did not have it. oops_sign

So I had all transactions cancelled and am waiting for go ahead to start over.

I have been running the Griz G055 about 6 years now. No problem. Boss bought a bigger 17" for resaw few years ago. He does a lot of resaw of wood. No probelm and does great job.

Mike,
With all respect, I, too, believe you have been suffering from analysis paralysis. I suffer from it all the time. Most of us probably have. The next time you are in a market for a tool, just buy the best one you can afford, one that will reasonably do the job you have in mind. Unless you are running a huge production shop with employees running your tools eight hours each day, you can probably do quite well without commercial machines. Of course, if you ever get a shot at a used commercial machine, you might score a real good deal. But sometimes they are shot, too, and require more rebuilding than their purchase price would suggest. That can double the cost of a bargain used tool. Everyone has given you good advice. If I could presume to boil down the collective essence of what has been stated here, it is this: Buy the best tool you can afford. Then use it. Don't sweat the resale value. If you've bought a high quality tool, (not necessarily commercial grade), and you're using it on a less-than full commercial production basis, you probably won't live long enough to need to worry about resale value.

All what you say is true. The real problem was I had not really finalized my analysis (tool selection) when the cashback thing came up. That put pressure on me to get it done. The cool things is, at checkout, I still had another 10% coupon, so I applied it to the bandsaw for another $100 off!!
