two weeks at the bare minimum in my opinion depending on how may paddings and how long between paddings if padded

Yep! 2 weeks at least... I did 2 weeks one one neck and about a month on the other and the extra time seemed to translate into a harder finish.

You will get witness lines with a power buffer. I use 0000 steel wool, works fine.

Jon,
I have padded on Tru-oil for years on my standard finish necks. I wet sand through400p-1000p then 0000 steel wool and buff with Menserna fine then extra fine and have never had a problem with witness lines.
