Bill Sterling is giving demonstrations / lectures on guitar building at the woodworking show in Saratoga Springs, NY this weekend. Does anyone know about Mr. Sterling? Is anyone here planning to be at the Saratoga show?

I live in Saratoga. Anyone know when the lecture/demonstration is scheduled? I'll head over in the morning and try to find out...

Thanks, Mike. I didn't notice the links at the bottom of that page. 1:30 both days in the Whitney room. I probably head over for the Saturday session at least. Hoping to get back into some building after quite a while away. Hope to see you there...

 Hi I'm Bill Sterling- I guess Mike has forgotten who I am we have known each other for a couple years I last saw him at the Woodstock show last fall. I am a amateur builder. I trained with Dave Nichols up at custom pearl in Malone. I am an artist and retired art teacher and have been doing woodworking for over thirty years. Would it be worthwhile to come to my presentation? It depends on how much you know already if you know alot already then maybe not. What I plan to do is a basic overview of the process of building an acoustic guitar. I am a professional teacher but relatively new to guitar building so that is who I am. Anyone who has been bitten by the bug of building guitars loves to talk about them so anyone interested is welcome.

I'm planning to be at your talk tomorrow. Saturday I'll be wearing a sky blue "Five Barns" t-shirt and "Family Woodworking" baseball cap. Sunday the t-shirt will be a gray "Thompson Tools". I haven't built one at all yet, but I have picked up a copy of the recommended "Guitar Making".

I'd love to meet any of you.

 Thanks Guys had alot of fun at the show and the lectures and demos when well. I hope I didn't tell to many lies. As long as we are all comfortable were we are in the process of learning the art of guitar building we are ok. If you are ashamed of what you don't know it is hard to be open to learning. It is great to be on the path to learning- knowing less than some but more than others. I am a teacher and it is wonderful to enpower people to realize what they can achieve if they have the will and put in the TIME.
