Thanks, Steve,

Check out the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association. Specifically, go to the Builders and Supplies page here: http://wcha.org/buildsupply/

You should be able to find somebody close enough.

Good luck.

Beautiful canoe Douglas and a great shot!
I love solo canoes.

And some pretty fine instrument work going on there also! [clap]

Well not this past weekend but I never could follow directions.... :)

Right now I am making a new bone nut for a fellow OLFer and a very good guy who sent me his new Taylor all the way from California, I'm in Meechigan, for me to set it up for him. It's going to get a bone nut and saddle, be intonated (is intonated a word...), and generally set-up to his preferences including slightly different string spacing from Taylor's OEM specs, lower action, and a good check over.

My shop is VERY comfy this time of year with temps of about 74F and RH of about 48%. Got the tunes on and one of my personal favorites Neil Young at Massey Hall.

I enjoy working on Taylors because the quality control is pretty good. For example this nut slot needed very little cleaning up and measures .190 at both ends - very accurate that Bob Taylor is!

Thanks for looking. :)

Strung up an archtop in the white. Sounds good. Off to finish.

Looks good too Terence!

I have 2 boxes about to get binding, an older guitar still waiting for the finish to be up to par, and a french polish repair going pretty well. I am building these last couple with a stiffer soundboard than I have been and I am interested to hear the difference. I have an idea of what may happen but I am very curious to see if I am in the ballpark.

Love the canoe shot Doug.

Beautiful work all around, these threads are great as I can live vicariously in between equations. Sigh

Looks like everyone is having fun!

I slotted and drilled bridge pin holes in six bridge blanks as well as joined some spalted mango back panels and figured claro walnut for a couple of J-185s I am starting. Also pre-sized and bent the claro walnut sides. The claro walnut came from a board I resawed. Nice stuff.

Hope to get a few base coats of EM6000 on the EIR/Lacewood OM this weekend if the humidity will stay down here in Michigan. Been waiting weeks it seems for more moderate temps and humidity. This is my first guitar with Shane's lutz, and I am looking forward to hearing how it sounds.
