Violin makers I've spoken to over here, tell me pernambuco is getting so hard to come by, or expensive (or both), that they are forced to use other woods for bows. They will be in the near future, at least. The guy who has a stash of it that is large enough for guitars must be
fabulously well-to-do , or he would be if he sold it to bow makers.... Or is "bow quality wood" different?
My favourite tonewood is spruce.
