This one is a beauty and I am very happy with the results, both visually and tonally.
The bracing was somewhat of a hybrid fan brace design and I'm very pleased with the results.

Peter -

When you have such a long arm bevel, does the backing wood throw off the weight of the instrument? Do you do anything to balance it back out?

Mike

I'm wordless. Just amazing!

Is it redwood or cedar? Anyways, the top looks just perfect with the quilted back. Perfect match.

Congrat's!
Francis

What they all said, Peter. It's a magnificent instrument. If the new owner finds any fault with this, I will personally.......well....let's don't go there. All I can say are these two things: First, If I were the new owner of this instrument, I would be so ecstatic as to be beyond words. Second, after looking at these pictures, I can't decide whether to be totally inspired to press on, or whether to be totally depressed by my own mediocre results and quit altogether! You have built a FABULOUS instrument! My hat is off to you!

Mike,
The bevel spline matches the angle of the bevel and is minimal in size and weight.

Thanks,

That is incredible. What veneer did you use on the back of the headstock? Can you give us a sound bite? Beth

Thanks Beth!
The veneer is Macassar Ebony. I'll have a soundclip as soon as my customer gets around to it....maybe some video too. bliss
