I'll echo Jame's sentiment, I love that sound port too. Very elegant!

Forgive my tardiness...late to the party Peter.
But let me say how inspiring your guitar is!
I love that quilted figure, and how you've matched the pattern so well.
That little arc in the grain close to the heel is a real eye-catcher.

Steve

Made it safely to South Africa yesterday and the owner likes it!
Thank you all so much for the compliments, it means a lot.
As we know it can be a bit of a challenge at times.

Hi everyone.

While I am no luthier and technically do not belong as a member of this forum, I do "prowl" from time to time ;)

However, I am the client/customer and now owner of this absolute masterpiece and so just could not resist joining the forum and commenting ... (I hope you don't think I'm stalking you Peter :D )

I initially communicated with Peter and added the following at the end of our initial discussions:

"I love the idea of the intimate attraction of a good guitar that reveals more of itself the closer one looks at it. I love the idea of “discovering” the particular instrument both visually and aurally. I guess all of the above defines my idea of a guitar with “soul”.

I then commented after the build: "You've achieved that and more - This Zion has bucket loads of soul!!!!!"

Peter was an absolute pleasure to deal with on every level and I am totally overwhelmed, ecstatic and just plain "gobsmacked!!!" (A term I use quite often now) at both the craftsmanship, aesthetic balance, visual appeal and most importantly the wonderful tone of the Zion. Peter absolutely hit a home run on every single aspect and brief on this guitar including my specific tonal requirements!

I will be posting a detailed (yet amateur) review on a few forums ina the next week and with kind permission as a "non" luthier, I would love to be able to post the review here as well. My only problem is that any soundclip will just not do this guitar justice due to my amateur, yet enthusiastic playing and limited recording device.

The entire experience has been just wonderful!! This guitar was always meant to be passed down in years to come to my son and future generations - what a treat they will have as they remember both me and the extremely talented and gifted Luthier from Cornerstone Guitars: Peter Marreiros !!!
