A cabinet-making tour de force, sans doute, but totally impractical from a functional point of view.

Didn't watch the video (dial-up {8^) ) but if it's the same one (19th century piano maker Henry Studley's chest), it was featured in FWW in the late 80's and is almost supernatural from an organizational perpective.....then you get to how beautiful everything is. Most definitely practical for the period.... still makes the jaw drop more than a century later.

You must joking about the Studley chest being impractical.

When I organized my rather large toolbox which I used in the tool & die shop where I was employed, and in my guitar shop at home I followed the same concept of layering to pack the most punch into the available space.

Of course, I am afflicted by a need to organize - I can spend hours sorting screws and bolts with a pair of tweezers (or other things) into smaller and smaller subsets of organization.
