Not that I'm hanging out my shingle or anything (far from it), but I thought it would be cool to have my logo on any future guitars I build since I plan on making quite a few. I'd love some input on which format you like better. The black parts will be screenprinted on the headstock, so ignore any white on these images. I just need to know what placement and format you think looks better.

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Thanks!

I'd like to see the dog head under the "D" tuner hole centered, and the words under it following the curve of the wood. The dog head smaller, and the words a little bigger to make it fit. Maybe Dog Tired bigger and guitars smaller. Something to think about.

How about just use 'Dog Tired' and leave off the 'guitars' part. Make the font a little larger and put it in the normal location for the "Fender" logo (along with wider part of the wing). This will put the text outside of the area where the strings are. Put the dogs head above it.

Just as i suspected, this won't be as easy as I'd hoped laughing6-hehe . You guys bring up some good ideas, so I'm going to tweak it some more and try incorporating some of your ideas to see how it looks. Thanks guys [:Y:]

Doesn't the logo go inside the box so you can see it through the sound hole? beehive

Roger,

Your mockup idea is a good one. I usually just wait until I'm ready to apply something like that and slap it down somewhere.

One thing that might help would be to draw some lines between the nut an tuners to facsimile the strings, as they will affect the overall look.

Good thought Jim_H! Adding the strings later might obscure a bit of the logo and make it look odd. The washers for the tuners could cause you to have to move it as well. Might want to install the tuners and check your placement again.

For what its worth, I like #2 the best.

Good point Tony.

Adding the tuners, washers/bushings, and strings will change the look of the headstock and you should probably include them in your mock up drawing.

Don't forget string retainers. . .

Ok, I've taken feedback into consideration and have done some much better mockups. Which of these 3 do you like better?

Option A

Option B

Option C

Thanks for all the input so far everyone. It's been invaluable.

I think the bottom one is my preference. But I think I would drop the 'guitar works' and move the "Dog Tired" down so it's not under the strings. :)

I think C may be the better one . Lay out the hardware and the string guides out on the headstock and redo the graphics. Looks pretty good

Definitely much better. It has a more balanced look to it.

I still think though if it were up to me, I'd probably shrink the "Dog Tired" text a bit and move it down to where the "Oklahoma USA" text is. Maybe move the Oklahoma USA tribute to the back of the peghead? Just a thought :p

But hey, Roger, this is for you. I'm just giving an opinion. Do it the way that looks best to YOU!

OK. The final final mockup beehive :D . I've gotten some really great feedback, and I'm very appreciative of everyone who took time out to give me ideas. Here's the final version bliss
