Anybody interested in any demos? If anyone has anything they would like to show I can provide the shop space and tools (if I have them).

For my part I know deflection testing comes up here a lot so I'd be happy to show my method, let me know if anyone is interested.

Sounds good. How many are attending? I could bring some give away wood, Persimmon, enough for a fingerboard and a bridge blank for everyone, some Black Locust for bridge plates.

Looks like we're up to 6. Persimmon would be nice - I've been looking to try some for a while but hadn't run across any.

I have some birdseye and flame maple veneer sheets that I will most likely never use if anyone is interested in a swap. They came with my drum sander when I bought it and they have been lying in the shop since. Also have some Cocobolo boards big enough for fingerboards or bridges.

Would love to see someone demonstrate "tuning" tops and backs to the desired pitch interval if anyone is into that advanced voicing stuff. Been doing some reading on keeping your top and back within a semitone of each other so that the box pushes more air. Never put any of it in practice though.

Man, I'd like to come. Y'all got any problem with a WNC fella sitting in (spent my first 17yrs in Bristol)?

If folks want to bring things to swap or sell I think that would be great. I've got a few things myself I probably won't use that I could put in the mix.

I'd enjoy a voicing demo too. I've tried some Chladni testing and so on but have not got very far with it.

Anyone else have any more ideas?

I'm hoping to make it, though my wife will be out of town on business, so I'm going to have to figure out some friends for my son to hang out with. I'll keep you posted on that front.

If I can pull it off, I can bring some nice curly maple and maybe some student grade Lutz spruce for the swap.

Hope to see y'all there!

Ken

I could probably make it over from Nashville. I've built one for myself, but work full time doing repairs.

That's great - I think we're up to 8. Should be a nice get-together!

Of course he's welcome.

I'll take a headcount about mid next week. When you respond to the final headcount I'll send you address, phone number and so on.
