Some of you may have seen the lead up pictures in my Vermont Instruments thread - but I wanted to post the completed shots in a new thread, since this is my first guitar.

0 body size, wenge back and sides, mahogany neck, maple binding, ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, 12 frets to the body, slot head, 24.75" scale length, French polish finish.

This guitar is for my wife. It has about a thousand little mistakes - and probably more that I'm not a good enough builder to spot. Despite its many flaws, I'm sure she will love it; it's a good metaphor for her relationship with me in that regard.

Beautifull work ! [:Y:] There is no doubt she will love it . As for mistakes , EVERYONE on this forum could write a book on what NOT to do . Dont worry about that , just start # 2 and enjoy the ride !

I have to tell you Robert, for a blind guy, you made a very nice instrument!

Well done, Robert. I assure you there are plenty of people out here who wish their first had come out this nicely--including me. And I'm pretty sure there is no one out here who has not made a basket full of little mistakes at one time or another. So....as has already been said: Plunge right in to number 2 and best wishes to you!
Patrick

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, everyone. I owe the success to George at Vermont Instruments. He was a really (really) patient teacher and very good about not jumping in and doing things for us.

The guitar sounds great, I'm really pleased with it and intersted to see how it settles in as the finish cures and she gets some playing time.

Ha!
Nice job!
Wenge looks great.
I'll give that wood a whirl someday,
maybe.

laughing6-hehe laughing6-hehe

That really struck a chord. So true for so many of us.

I really like the guitar - it just looks clean and the Size O is one of my favorites. Great job for #1 and, like someone already said, get started on #2.

Looks great! Congrats. Mistakes happen... My goal is to reduce them as time goes on. Just remember the famous words of somebody (possibly on this forum) "He who has made no mistakes has not made anything."
