I've done several solidbodies with Watco through the years.
Never a problem!

I've heard good things about it on several forums. I need to check the hardware stores, lol. That's a great price.
I've only looked at Lowes. They have Deft in quart and gallon, but it's brushing lacquer, at around $10 a quart. I think it's time I looked around at the local hardware stores and see what I can see.
Thanks for the idea!

Was it a close out? It usually goes for around $15 a quart.

Ace had a close out sale on some items.
I should have picked up the other quart.
I also got a tight little Case knife for $3!

I've thinned Watco brushing lacquer and sprayed it. It seemed to work fine. I don't know if it has enough plasticizers for acoustics though.
Lowe's has brushing lacquer for $26 a gallon. I've sprayed it on cabinet parts, and have been thinking about using it for guitar necks. This might be a way to save a few bucks over the long run. Does anyone see a problem with doing this?
