The tops and backs are braced for both guitars and the 00 is voiced and ready for closing the box

Hi, Fred. I noticed that your cutaway neck block has some extra-stout top reinforcement surface that the other one doesn't have. I'm sure there's a reason why you've built them differently, and I'm curious. Seems like the cutaway would already have a bit more longitudinal strength due to the presence of the cutaway side running almost parallel to the neck. But I'm probably missing something. Would you explain?

That one will be a complete removable bolt on neck and the other will be a glued down fingerboard style bolt on. I have always only did dovetail joints, so these are to evaluate the 2 styles of bolt on neck joints.

Yep, I missed something, and now that you explain it to me, it seems pretty obvious. A bolt on neck and bolt down fingerboard extension. Makes perfect sense to me now. Thanks, Fred. Press on, man! I'll be eager to see them.

I guess I don't see where the b/s look different at all. Not sure if you see something that I don't but they look like they're from the same board.

The guitars are wonderful. The bear claw sitka is very nice but the sinker redwood is very interesting to me right now. I'd really like to come up with a top of sinker redwood, I think they are very aesthetically pleasing. But I personally have never actually heard a redwood topped guitar, especially sinker redwood. Anyone has experience with the sound produced by a redwood top. I assume it to be a bit warmer and slightly mellower in tone.
