I couldn't see that ever happening, at least with the big name companies. Brands have a reputation to protect and quality control would be a huge issue. A smaller builder would really have to know your skills and abilities before they would ever trust you to build a guitar for them. I would imagine any company would rather hire you and have you work at their facility.

I have had several 'courts' from brands. (Not big brands like Tak or Martin, but business people with distribution, a brand name, but no capability to produce guitars themselves)...
But why would you want to? Think of the money breakdown. They would be buying instruments from you at wholesale prices and marking up considerably. You're better off to find your own clients and sell direct...as your own brand.
