I/ve been using a 90 deg neck to angle bodyjoint bolt on on my tenor ukes and was wondering what others are using?.Was thinking of changing it so that the neck is tilted forward by a degree or 2 like on a classical gtr. But am not sure if it/s doable. ? Am using a classical style tie on bridge as seen on classicals. there is not much room for error on a uke, so was wondering what others are doing and using. Some builders are using the spanish heel , dovetail , M and T and bolt on. Thanks

Ernie, I use about a 1.5degree back angle on my tenor uke necks, but note that I dome the tops (and backs) just like I do for guitars.
My uke fretboards are usually thin - around 0.150".
In order to plan to get the neck angle right for your tenor uke/s, you will need to do a full-scale drawing IMO.

Our tops are flat. Fretboard is parallel to the top, perhaps just a touch of lift. Fretboard thickness, about .190"; bridge height 7mm (12-hole tie block). Target action at the 12th fret: .090". The fretboard is relieved on the bass side. If there is not enough relief, Aquila G and C strings tend to buzz; Worth's are thinner - sometimes a change of strings can solve that problem. For what it's worth, we use dovetail joints; once you get your jigs dialed-in, it's a quick method.

Just curious, if your geometry is working for you, why consider changing anything?

larry, yes my geometry is working, but on a recent build using acquila strings ,had buzzing issues on the 2nd and 3rd string 2nd fret using the aquila strings.I was using GHS in the past builds .I went back and reflattened the brazilian rosewood fb there was abt 1mm or a.035 hump in th e middle of the FB .I refretted, and took off my bridge, this bridge was 7.5mm.2950 with a 5mm .200FB.If I still get buzzing , will get back to GHS strings. The bridge was lifting in the back by abt 1mm or .040, so perhaps that was the problem.??I made a new bridge out of antique walnut so hopefully will not get lifting this time. This was a bolt on. Have never tried Worth strings?
