For those of you who haven't noticed, there's an interview with the OLF's own David Wren in the most recent edition of American Lutherie.

I could make the point that what makes the interview particularly interesting is the subtle questioning and prodding by the interviewer, his relentless focus on the zeitgeist of current guitar making, his wit and intelligence, but that would be wrong. Because this is one of those very rare instances where it's not all about me :-)

In fact, what makes the interview interesting is that David has a fascinating history and really knows his stuff. He makes beautiful guitars, knows more about designing, building, and selling them than just about anybody out there. And is a real gentleman to boot.

Over the course of 30 years in advertising, I've interviewed a ton of people. But I've never done one where the interviewee was so articulate and passionate about his subject.

Much as I'd like to take credit, my biggest job was getting out of the way.

Thanks David.

Steve
