Both guitars are Ziricote, the set on the OM is quite a bit darker than the 12 fret and it really showed after the finish was on.

Finish is West 105/207 epoxy pore filler with Behlen lacquer.

The top of the 12 fret 00 is sinker Red Ceder not sinker redwood.

Fred, I think those guitars are spectacular. I'm glad you showed them.

Very nice, Fred! They look fantastic under finish! Paul mentioned you were in his shop earlier Saturday picking up tuning machines. Too bad I missed you. Over the weekend, I filled the pores on the Ziricote OM I am building, and it and the Claro walnut will see lacquer this week!

Have fun stringing it up!

Ken

Fred - gorgeous.
Do you radius your tops? If so, what approach do you take? radius dish, or other. The final major challenge that I have in my planning the build is in managing the interaction of the radius of the top and the neck geometry. interested in your approach. Thanks

Corky

Top 28' radius, radius dish and go bar deck for brace gluing. UTB brace is flat so an approximately 1.5 degrees for neck angle.

The 12 fret 00 got its strings and a rough setup today, sounds great and will play great tomorrow after the final adjustments

Very, very nice Fred. Did you get your ziricote from Exotic Woods in Burlington. I have been thinking of buying some of their8/4 stuff and resawing it.
