Hi there, do you think there is in the market a cheap but good videocamera for inside guitar inspection? There is a model advertised by Frank Ford on his frets.com site but it's quite expensive. I bet its good though.

I have one the same as this I picked up at a local discount store and it works great. The LED's provide good lighting and it can be manually focused. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-USB-80-0M-6-LED-Webcam-Camera-80MP-Web-Cam-with-Mic-for-Desktop-PC-Laptop-/221126725974?pt=PCA_Video_Conferencing_Webcams&hash=item337c2e1156

I use a $30 webcam on a stick connected to a laptop. Takes clear pictures and video but next time I'll get the LED model.

I like this one. It's cheap, all over ebay for $10 - 15 used, and has adjustable focus.

One could simply use a smart phone to record video and take pictures. Attach it to the skinny arm of a human being.

I've tried that and also a series of photos - which is helpful but useless for monitoring the work in the box. Closing cracks, re-gluing braces and more would be much easier if you could see what you're doing while you're doing it.

If I did more repair work I think I mould get an automotive inspection camera. Something like thishttp://www.princessauto.com/pal/pro ... ion-Camera. I'm pretty sure some of them have a record function so you can view on other devices.

The LED web cam I mentioned in a previous post works awesome, plugged into the USB port on my laptop with the LED's at about 1/2 power gives a detailed view of what you are doing. Really helpful when your arm is deep inside the box and blocking the soundhole. You can save a video of the inside or snap pictures as needed from the computer. For the $8.00 I spent has been a great addition to my tool collection.
