I do feel a bit sorry for those who have never had the opportunity to find out how much fun this is for Dad's, Mom's and Daughters [sometimes Sons]. Lots of "work" on all sides but worth it all.

I will repeat our local motto:

"We'd sure rather have our girls foolin' around with horses, than horsin' around with fools".

Warning; they grow up. Should we have an off topic discussion of how Featherlite trailers compare to Four Star trailers? Or steel trailers vs aluminum? Clinton

That is so cool! My wife and I are thinking of having my oldest daughter take some riding lessons this summer. She's crazy about horses, but has never actually ridden one. Is it expensive to do?

Enoch, cost "depends". Check out your local 4H clubs... or "Pony Clubs" [ The "pony" in Pony Club doesn't refer to little horses, it's a hold over british term.. PC focuses on the "Olympic Events" and Horse and Stable management]

In my experience there are always folks out there who are willing to do almost any thing to help a youngster get started in the right way, that has certainly been how we do it up here. There is some cost for "lessons" but try taking her to some of the local 4H horse shows and talking with the riders and their parents..

Now when it's time for "Her own Horse" Things change and you can cross that bridge when you come to it.

Good Luck.... it really is a worthwhile experience for kids especially little girls.

How very cool! Thing like this event may pass but the memory will be with every one for a very long, time. I still get to smile at some of the fun things my son did when he was growing up and he is 45 now.
