i know the photo is far from optimum... i blame the cell phone, not the photographer :) . but if someone has any hint, it´d be most welcome.
i´ll measure its density tomorrow - but it does feel heavy. i´ll also try to take a pic of endgrain if it helps.

Thanks ! I was guessing goncalo Alves too. They call it muiracatiara here. The color is brick orange, with those wonderful black streaks.

Any experience with it?
