Couple questions.

Who offers the best pricing on Lennox Woodmaster blades? The closer to the Wet Coast of Canada the better.

Is there anyone who sells them that can sharpen them. I have a 3 tpi that is dull and at $150 for a new one it would be nice to have it resharpened.

Does anyone know if it is worth while to have a broken blade welded. I have a 1.3 tpi that broke with probable less than 5 hours of cutting time on it. The break is fairly clean. These are both 1" blades.

Danny: Are these carbide tipped? If not You should be able to do a half decent job yourself with a dremel and small diamond wheel that fits the gullet. I've done this without removing the blade, takes a bit of time though.

I should have mentioned, yes, carbide tipped Tom. A diamond wheel in a Dremel should sharpen carbide shouldn't it? I think the only saw blade I ever tried to sharpen was a hand saw. It wasn't pretty.

Danny, I have ordered from spectrum supply, decent prices, and I asked them to ship USPS and avoided brokerage fees but paid tax to Canada Post.
My local guy here repairs broken blades for ~$10. Shouldn't matter if it is carbide tipped.
I asked around about getting the carbide sharpened but had no luck. Even lenox was not helpful and did not want to reccomend it being done.
After a year of use on the last one, it is still sharp though I have not run anything nasty like ipe or coco through.

Have not tried carbide tipped but would think they are hard going. Pun intended. Might be worth a try if you have the diamond burr. I picked up a bunch from Lee Valley a few years back but have forgotten the cost. They do seem to cut well and last on the regular blades. Good luck in your search for a solution.

I bought mine from Spectrum.

Yes, it is worth welding the blade back together. It should not cost much. I've even had one Lenox blade lengthened when I switched bandsaw machines. Louis Iturra did it.

I would also like a sharpening source.

I had actually called Lennox tech support to ask if sharpening was available.
The answer was " well in theory, yes". They could provide no info for where to go.
Too bad we are getting hammered so hard on the dollar exchange, it sure was nice for buying stuff south of the line.

Not to hijack this thread but. . . I have some non-carbide blades I would love to sharpen, as mentioned above with a dremel. Are there any good tutorials available on how to do that?

that woodgears.ca site seems to have good tutorial. But if you have a coarse resaw blade, you should be able to get anyone with a machine to sharpen it. You don't want to sharpen just the tip because sometimes fracture can develop in the gullet and grinding that away can improve blade life.
