I'm thinking about using Green Abalone shell strips as fretboard markers. Thin strips covering about 60% of FB width, maybe 1/8" wide or so. Stew Mac sells in one ounce quantities, $45. I'm having a hard time estimating how far one ounce will go. I have 6 boards to do. Can anyone advise?

Mike

You'll get plenty of shell from an ounce. You'll get about a dozen pieces of various sizes....1-2" long and about 1" wide. You can probably cut all the markers out of one or two pieces
