Hi

Aimed at uk based people really

Where do you get your tonewoods from?

Looking for good grade woods for an acoustic guitar project from one supplier if possible.

Not sure which woods i will settle on but it wont be anything rare/unusual

Thanks in advance

I'd use David Dyke,, especially if you're in the area. Timberline in Tonbridge also very good. It's also lots of fun to visit and pick select rather than order.!

Whereabouts in the UK are you Cabelpuller?

+1 for the suppliers mentioned above, especially Timberline http://www.exotichardwoods.co.uk/ as he is local to me and I can browse through thousands of sets. The only trouble is, there is so much beautiful lumber there, that I have to restrict myself to certain amount of cash before I visit or I know I will overspend.

I think Kevin Aram is in Devon. He's a well known Guitar maker and used to sell local UK hardwoods, some collected after the great storm that felled many trees.
He certainly will have exotics but they may just be for his personal use.

What about the Totnes School of Guitar making? http://www.totnesschoolofguitarmaking.co.uk/index.htm I know Devon's a big county, but you may be near enough to visit. I'd give them a call to see if they can help.
