Black epoxy works real well too

Many years ago I bought a quart jar of black pastel powder at the local art store. Still have half of it all these years later. Mix with epoxy and it's black as coal.

Ebony dust, Lamp Black, Bitumen Earth Pigment. All send your glue/filler pretty Black looking. You could try mixing them, for that very exact shade of Black!
