Bruce Petros here. I am the inventor and producer of this product. Thought it was time to pop in here and see if anyone has any questions you'd like to ask me about Purflex®. Installation questions, concerns, design ideas, you name it. I'll see to it I check in in the next week often to see if there is any interest.

Thanks for stopping by. I saw your exhibit at the ASIA symposiums, and the Purflex looks spectacular.
I will be using some in the future, but I only have time for about one guitar a year, and two currently under construction, so it will be a while.

I'm really glad you stopped into chat. I've been looking at one of your products, crown of thorns rosette. Why don't you offer similar in purfling? Nice stuff!

Mike

The final product is incredible. I'm going to keep it in mind for a future build. Love it,

Bruce my questions are what is it made from? Is it rubber type backing and if so is it guaranteed not shrink or distort after many years? Any adverse reactions to glues and finishes? I have checked it out online but have not seen it in person to get an idea of what it's really like.

It looks like laser cut wood. Hope I'm not wrong!

I'll think about a design that would compliment the Crown of Thorns rosette in some way. Let me know if you have any ideas!

The backing is a military grade rubber. The design elements are maple. You fill it will epoxy. I have used it on dozens of guitars and have not seen any problems for 8 years now. Any glue will shrink and expand with humidity and temperature differently than wood. Different woods shrink and expand at different rates too. Guitar elements move with time and do not retain that perfect glass like surface that is seen only for a short time out of the chute. The rubber will last as long or longer than your guitar.

Mike, I'm going to be working on a thorn motif Purflex purfling. I'll let you know.

I just have to say, I've admired your guitars for the longest time. I've never seen anything more beautiful.

After watching the video I think I'll try one of your purflings on a build this year.

This is the model I think it might work on, im leaning towards the dwende 1:

Looking forward to it. I have a client who is interested in rosette. Maybe this will kick it over
