I was sharpening a scraper and had some lubricant oil on my fingers. I forgot and touched the guitar now the back has a few spots with oil in the wood. How should I go about removing it?

I've found out about "K2R" many years ago when I built and flew gas powered model airplanes.

Its a spray on product that dries and turn into a white power that you dust or vacuum off. In process of drying it absorbs the oil, kinda suck it out of the wood fibers rather than deluting the oil with a solvent and spreading it out over a larger area.

Dish washing liquid. Then rinse with water.

I like to use nose grease. Yeap, just rub the skin on top of your nose with you thumb and index finger and wipe on the scraper, or put on a plane sole and you'll notice a big difference.

I absentmindedly set an unfinished body on a surface treated with mineral oil. A few days later I went back down to the shop and found the stain. The oil was even showing through on the other side. The advice I got was to use naptha. It took about three liberal applications to remove all traces of the oil. No finish (shellac) issues either.

If the Naptha doesn't work or you can't get it where you live you may want to try Corn Starch or finely ground kitty litter. Leave it on for a day or so and it will absorb the oil. +1 on the nose grease. It's what I've used for a long time.
