Hello,

I'm wondering if any OLF members around 100 miles or so of Cincinnati might be able to help with resawing a piece of Padouk for me? It's an 8/4 board about 40" long and 13" wide. I tried to resaw in my Rikon 10-325. It's got the resaw height but I was having a heck of a time with drift and controlling the board on the first attempt. Rather than hose the board I'd like to have someone do it. :)

Edit: I'd like to have someone do it for money of course. :)

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks!
Brad

Can't offer you any services but just a quick question:
Do you need the full 13" of width? Why not rip a 4.5"-5" (depending on the size guitars you're making) portion off and resaw separately (you could probably get a couple of extra slices out of the side billet portion)? I would think that would make resawing yourself more manageable. Just a thought.

Try specialty lumber yards, such as above. If they are like others I have seen, there may be a $50 or so minimum charge, but you can get it resawn and sanded to thickness in one visit.

Thanks! I contacted one of the local shops to see if they can do this.
