Here is the latest Luthier Tips du Jour video - In this video I talk about how to level and seal rosettes before finishing.
This video as well as all my other videos are available via my website, http://www.obrienguitars.com/videos , LMI's website or on youtube.

It really is amazing how that stuff travels. I've never had anything like it happen to me except for last week when I glued my finger to the back of the guitar neck. I still have no idea how the glue traveled down there.

For that I use CA too, but I apply medium viscosity and then, just after the glue is put on the pores, I spread some wooddust from the same wood of the rosette so that the glue gets caught quickly by the dust and it dries faster, without spreading into the end grain (which is a PITA...)
Thank you robbie!

The stewmac brush on CA works real great for this task, http://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and_Supplies/Glues_and_Adhesives/Glues/StewMac_Super_Glues/StewMac_Brush-on_Super_Glue.html it is medium thick and with the brush easy to apply only where it is needed.

What Fred said. The StewMac brush-on is great for that and lots of other things.

Just over half of the way in until the LMI ad. I was actually on the edge of my seat wondering if this would be the one to go without it.

Doesn't LMI partner with Robbie to make these videos? Saying what product he is using and where to get it seems reasonable for a great series of free how to videos. Just sayin'.

It would make sense that there is, but I've never seen it disclosed. I could be wrong. Is it posted somewhere?

From LMI web site;

We are pleased to sponsor these videos by Robert O’Brien. He is one of the most experienced guitar building instructors in the U.S. He founded and, for nine years, directed the Lutherie Program at Red Rocks Community College in Denver, CO. Thousands of LMI customers have used his DVDs for building and finishing guitars. Robert currently offers online building courses for mandolin, classical, flamenco, steel string and electric guitars, as well as rosette making, fretwork, French polish, spray finishing and even sharpening. In addition he offers private classes. These new video courses are well organized, clear and entertaining.

Well, I'm OK admitting when I'm wrong. It appears I am here. I wonder why it's never mentioned in the videos themselves, though? You almost always hear people disclose when things are sponsored content. "Our wonderful sponsors over at LMI sell something that's perfect for this."
