Does he realize the scope of such an endeavor?
I built my first guitar at 15. A bow however - to come out with something genuinely useful beyond an ornament of affection, I would say is an exponentially more daunting task. A bow may seem deceptively simple, but to come out as functioning well can be enormously complex.
I suspect that the lack of concise tutorials may be largely due to the sense of futility found in those who may have considered presenting them. I doubt that anyone qualified to draft such a lesson would be able to create instructions short of a lengthy apprenticeship.
