I just traded in my IPhone 6, which I was not real impressed with, for an Galaxy S7. So far I'm happy with the change but need to find a good guitar app. I had GuitarToolkit on the IPhone which did everything I need but the app of the same name for Android isn't even close.

The functions I need are:

- Tuner with cents information.
- Chord chart - preferably one that works both ways (i.e. enter the chord name or enter the fingering and get a name). I need one that does the regular stuff plus 6th, 9th, diminished, etc.
- Metronome would be handy too.

Anyone got any recommendations. I don't mind paying for a good app.

Thanks!

Isn't the s7 the one that catches on fire?

I have used G-Strings and Boss makes an app for tuning.

No, the S7 is one that's been out for quite a while. You're thinking of the Note 7.

I'll check those apps out. Thanks.

You can get Peterson Soft for a small price.

I also have use one called Pitchlab which is handy to simply tune. It's free. It has a number of screens and functions that are kinda weird but there is one tuner screen I like.

I think the only chord finder I have is a Reverse Chord Finder. Works well.

Looks like I might need to have several apps to cover all the bases.

I use guitarTuna and GStrings. I only have the free versions, but they have metronomes, chord charts, alt tunings etc. SOme of thast is available on the free versions.

Odd thing is, some days one seems more accurate than the other to my ear, so i keep both. I don't know what can be wrong in a tuning app. But i know it's not me.. :D

Does the D'Addario Tools app come in an Android version? It has lots of stuff. Chords, Chord Finder, Scales, Tuner (several options) and Metronome.

I don't know Waddy but I'll look. Thanks.

Edit: I looked and it seems it is only for IPhone or IPad.

Well, I have some apps downloaded. G STRING seems to work pretty good for tuning. I got Smart Chord which seems to be pretty versatile.

Thanks for the input guys.

I switched from G Strings to AP Tuner. It gives the note played and cents + or - . I like it much better.

Thanks Joe, I'll check it out. I like cents + or - feature.

Edit: Looks like this one is another IPhone only app.

Sorry about that Steve. Mine is on a Samsung S6. It works great. I did go into the app store after seeing that you can't find it. You are right, it seems to be gone.

Thanks for reminding me Hesh. I went ahead and downloaded it. I forgot about that one. I use it in the shop but I find it a bit fussy for playing.
