It's like some kind of miter saw outfitted with an abrasive cutting wheel or something? Actually, the rate the material is removed I don't know if it could be abrasive. It's cool though!

+1 with Brad. A carbide dado blade makes very smooth, flat bottomed cuts. 8 inch diameter?

I'm surprised they cut the sides to accept the braces. After the dado blade it looked like he pared the ends down to nothing with the chisel.

Dado blade, a wobbler it looks like rather than a stack but a dado blade is what I see.

And this opens the age-old discussion of letting the braces into the lining or squashing the ends when you glue on the plates

I tuck every brace including the finger braces. My guitars are often described as "tight". I think the kids use that as slang for "nice". 8-)

That is a cut-off saw, called a swing saw, iirc. Yeah, with a dado blade set. clever way to cut the brace ends. Watch those fingers!
