Yo, dude,

in 20yrs, me most likely gonna be dead so me just stopped in for another look at her.

Looks like a mahog neck with red wood up the center and coco caps ... Yes?

Senior Padma, yeah I know 20yrs is almost forever, I probably won't ever get mine either......you can come check her out any time you want, but she does live with another man now so she's forever taken.......Mahogany neck with cocobolo center strip bordered by ebony.

Cheerios,

Maple bindings on Cocobolo? Man, you're a glutton for punishment!

Another beauty, Greg.

Yeah, you're right about that, darn cocobolo is a mess with maple.

Hope all is well up your way?

Greg

Folks,

By sheer coincidence, I'm about to build an OM for a chap that wants cocobolo b/s, sinker redwood soundboard, and flamed maple bindings - almost exactly the same as this wonderful guitar!!

These last couple of posts have me worried about the binding! Is the problem bleed from the coco to the light colored maple? If I use vinyl sealer on the maple bindings, will that keep them from getting bled into enough? Are there any tricks of the trade I should know about here? All help and guidance gratefully received.

Thanks,
Dave F.

One thing I was thinking about is to avoid using stuff like denatured alcohol/acetone to wipe down the cocobolo, it will definitely stain the maple......really not a big deal though, no worries.
