Hi!

Lets start out with background facts:
I spent some time to build this guitar since It's my first real guitar build. I've made a bass and a telecaster from a cheap kit before.
I didn't have many of the recommended tools when I built my guitar such as a router, rasp nor did I own a normal sized file (I had a set of needle files. I didn't have access to a working bench so I had to use a small unstable table. The woods used in my guitar is just regular Swedish pine I had lying around in my garage (hence the odd neck) and the bridge were made out of some piece of oak I had.
Although it might sound as if I had no tools at all when I built my guitar I did have access to some tools. :)

I had some trouble with the ground. I could connect it to somewhere but the two screws in my bridge.

The guitar
Tuned to C# standard because there's no truss rod
Nylon strings
Piezo amplified (no preamp)
Volume knob
22 frets
~25.6 inch scale
32 mm thick
White
Crome tuning machines
Pine body & neck
Oak Bridge
Acrylic plastic pickguard

Total cost ~ 40 €

ah, i like that!
do you have an exact model/specs of the piezo unit? i took a piezo buzzer apart a couple years ago for this reason, and it buzzed horribly and sounded very harsh.

Have any build photos? It's always interesting to see the journey. Any hurdles along the way? What sort of piezo system did you install? Why nylon string? How long did it take to build? Any advice for anyone wanting to try to build one? So many questions hahaha :)

The piezo chips were regular piezo chips: http://icc107.com/images/PiezoElements.jpg
The build: http://imgur.com/a/2ufl1

I just attached two piezo chips under the bridge because I wanted the most out of my strings.
Why nylon strings? Because I wanted a nylon guitar with the feeling of an electric guitar.
It took me about 3/4 of a a year to complete since I'm lazy and I'm still in school :P

Advice:
1. Do not choose pine. It's a pine in the bass to work with!!
2. Go get yourself a set of files and a rasp.
3. Be gentle with the piezo chips. When you have solderd the connections to the chips, put some epoxy on them to make them tougher.
4. Don't paint it with a brush.
5. Complete the neck before putting it on the guitar.
6. Acrylic plastic works great as a pickguard.
7. Don't make the neck so thin :P
8. I didn't use a truss rod but if you're going to build a guitar with standard E tuning and steel strings, consider using a truss rod.
9. Use a preamp. It sounds trebble-y elseway.
10. Go out and build yourself one of these!! :)

Rule #9 The Spirit of Fair Competition Must Prevail , Think about it . If your satisfied it fits in the rules and can live with your decision , Then make the choice .

Its your call , however I suspect that the others would appreciate a bit more detail in the information as to when it was started . idunno

I didn't quite understand the way you pronounced that rule.

The information can be found in and by this thread. If it can't be found. Please, ask me.
